A Comprehensive Analysis of Shah Naimat's Poetry
A very informative post, Please read it complete

(Image from Divan Shah Nematollah Wali R.A.)

A 200 years old, 19th century Divan of Shah Naimat Ullah Wali R.A. is already posted on this blog, Today some of his poetry comparisons are presented here. This will help us to confirm the authenticity of books & poetry of Shah Naimat and also some predictions which are still, untranslated.

Mainly 'Mee Beenam' Radeef couplets are selected for comparison because they are easy to find in the Persian books. Below sources are compared

  1. Divan Shah Nematollah Wali (Persian - written around 1813 with more than 350 book pages)
  2. 800 Years Predictions by Hafiz Sarwar Nizami (Urdu - 1972)
  3. Gauzida Asha'ar Shah Naimat Ullah Wali by Abu-ul-Hassan Parveen Preshanzada (Persian - published 1963 with 196 pages)
  4. Saif-e-Chistiyai By Pir Meher Ali Shah R.A.- Golra Sharif (Book written in early 1900)
  5. Naimat Ullah Shah Wali (ra) YouTube Video of his Mausoleum in Kashmir (Video uploaded 2009)
  6. A Blog of Shah Nematollah Poetry http://www.shahnematollah.blogfa.com/

(Part A - Mee Beenam Comparison)

Although many details are already posted on this blog but briefly 'Mee Beenam' means 'I am looking at / I am seeing'. Shah Naimat used 'Mee Beenam Radeef' many times in his peotry. 19th century Divan and other books contain many couplets/ashaar ending in 'Mee Beenam'. Important thing is, 100 couplets of Future Happening are found around Pages 16, 17 and 18 of this Old Book. Who wrote these and when they were written, this couldn't be guessed , but it was surely Shah Naimat's Poetry, Proof is provided below.

Complete Divan Download Links are already posted here

This Book Needs To Be Explored By Some Farsi Language Expert.

Alaem e Zahoor (100 Bait)

Comparison: 'May/Mee Beenam' Couplets of H.M Sarwar Nizami's Book and Divan Shah Nematollah

Many other couplets/Bait are also similar, still 94 couplets are not translated in Urdu

Now carefully read below 'Mukashfa' from 'Gauzidah Ashaar' Book by Abu-ul-Hassan Perveen (1963) Book can be downloaded from a previous post.

Note: Purpose of this post is just to compare Shah Naimat's Poetry, Not a discussion on Imam Mehdi A.S.

Now Read a Bait from Hazrat Pir Meher Ali Shah R.A.'s Book Saif-e-Chishtiyai (The Chishtia Sword)
(This book was written against Qadianis because Mirza Qadiani falsely used this Bait for himself so Pir Meher Ali Shah Sahib challenged him & falsify him with arguments in this book, Its a famous book written in early 1900). Pir Meher Ali Shah passed away in 1938.

Same bait was given in H.M. Sarwar Nizami Book and in Abu Hassan Parveen 'Mukashfa of Shah Naimat' shown above

Just for the interest and information of Readers, When above bait would be discussed in Subcontinent in early 1900, Allama Iqbal must be aware of this controversy, as he had a very close correspondence with Pir Meher Ali Shah. His one couplet/Shair from Book: Armaghan-e-Hijaz gives us a hint of this controversy where Allama Iqbal seems to refer Naimat Ullah Shah Wali's Bait.

From Poem: Iblees Ki Majlis-e-Shura. Explanation of this poem is out of context here, but this shows Naimat Ullah Shah's Bait were famous in Allama Iqbal's time also.

Some more couplets ending 'Mee Beenam' radeef are as below:

From: Divan Shah Nematollah Wali (Page 121)

 From: Abu-ul-Hassan Perveen Book(Page 85)

Now in the end of this part A, There might be many more 'Mee Beenam' Radeef couplets which were still not found as  'Alekh'  (الخ) was written at end of these predictions. When some writing is left without completing and Dots...... are put to show it is still remaining. In arabic/Persian (الخ) is used for this purpose.
(الخ : الی آخرہ کا مخفف: جب کسی عبارت کو تھوڑا سا لکھ کر چھوڑ دیتے تا کہ طویل نہ ہو)

(Part B - Comparison of Some Other Sources)

Some more poetry comparisons are provided from different sources

A YouTube Video of Naimat Ullah Shah Wali's Symbolic Mausoleum in Kashmir
Watch after 50 second of video, the poetry written on the wall or kutbah of Mausoleum.

Couplets ending with 'Naimat Ullah Ko' as in above video, are shown below.

From: Divan Shah Nematollah Wali

Some Baits from a blog are also compared below
The above mentioned baits in an Iranian Blog, are from this Old Divan, see encircled ones.

That's enough to prove the authenticity of this book, in fact, Shah Namait's Poetry is very famous in Persian speaking world.

(Part C - Lord Curzon Ban)
After reading above extracts, a question immediately comes in mind why other future predictions related to Pakistan, India and world wars were not mentioned in these Books (Divans). Answer is very simple, there might be some pages missing from above Divan because during the Anti-Muslim British Rule in Subcontinent, there was a ban on publishing these predictions due to many reasons.
Viceroy Lord Curzon (1899-1905) legally banned and destroyed many old manuscripts.
Read these excerpts from different sources

According to Mumtaz Mufti (1905-1995): Book Alakh Nagri
(Essay on Pakistan 1986, Read complete here)

Accordingto Oriya Maqbool Jaan Article (Read complete here)

According to Hafiz Muhammad Sarwar Nizami

But still many predictions are available & famous,
In fact, Lord Curzon's ban made them more popular. That's all.
In the end,
Just for Information of Readers,
Allama Iqbal also used 'Mee Beenam' in some of his poems as
in Persian Poem from Book: Rumooz-e-Bekhudi named

And in Bal-e-Jibreel Poem Mussolini

  1. Good work. Does someone have the answer why the shair were written by hand on the border of a published book? Seems to be a later addition to the publication by some reader. What is the history of those hand written verses.
